Green ICT and technical standardization

Description

The rapid growth of digital technologies has increased the importance of sustainability within the ICT sector. Green ICT refers to a set of principles and practices aimed at reducing the environmental impact of digital systems throughout their lifecycle, from design and development to deployment and end-of-life management. In parallel, technical standardization provides a common foundation for defining best practices, ensuring interoperability, and supporting measurable and comparable sustainability efforts. This awareness session aims to provide participants with a broad understanding of Green ICT concepts and the role of standards in enabling more sustainable, efficient, and responsible digital technologies.
